About this site

Diamond Rock Campground has 3 sites that feature Adirondack style three-sided shelters that were built by the depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps before the age of large, car drawn campers. Campsites are located a few steps from the stream to protect the Black River's unique riparian zone, but access to the river is easy as the undergrowth serves more to enhance the river's picturesque nature than to obstruct easy passage. Additional Info: The campground sits along the East Fork Black River at 7,890 feet elevation in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. It features 12 single-unit sites with rock fire rings and picnic tables. Vault toilets are provided. The facility is concessionaire-operated and accessed via Forest Road 276, approximately 13 miles west of Alpine. Pets must be restrained or leashed. The campground operates seasonally and is best suited for smaller rigs due to limited maneuvering space.
