IRON CREEK (Campground) Additional Info: Iron Creek Campground is a free, developed campground located in the Black Range Mountains of Gila National Forest at approximately 7,200 feet elevation. The campground features 12 individual campsites along New Mexico Highway 152, part of the Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway. Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, with vault toilets available but no potable water on-site. Access is via NM Highway 152, a winding mountain road with steep grades and tight curves. The highway department prohibits trucks longer than 40 feet and trucks without retarder brakes on the section between San Lorenzo and Kingston. The campground is open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Pets must be leashed. OHV/ATVs, hunting, and shooting are prohibited. Stock animals are not allowed.
