IDLEWILDE (Campground) 9 single family unit sites along the Cave Creek riparian area. Primitive camp units having concrete tables ground level grills, trash containers, one restroom/outhouse and drinking water hydrant. This site is not accessible. Additional Info: Idlewilde Campground is located in Coronado National Forest and is the first campground encountered when entering Cave Creek Canyon from the east. Sites are best suited for tents, vans, or pickup truck campers; no trailers are permitted. The campground sits within a cypress grove with many shaded, creekside sites. Cave Creek Canyon is known for spectacular scenery and excellent birding. A short distance from the entrance is the trailhead for the Cave Creek Nature Trail. Black bears are common in the area. Maximum stay limit is 14 days. Open seasonally May 1 through October 31.
