Sears Point Petroglyphs
About this site
Sears Point Petroglyphs is a BLM-managed archaeological site on volcanic basalt outcrops near the Gila River, approximately 8.5 miles north of Interstate 8 (Exit 78) between Yuma and Gila Bend, Arizona. The site contains over 2,000 petroglyph panels with an estimated 10,000 individual petroglyph elements, along with geoglyphs, rock alignments, sleeping circles, and historic trails. The area is designated as an Area of Critical Environmental Concern. Dispersed camping is available on BLM land; campsites with fire rings exist along the access road. The rough dirt road requires medium to high ground clearance and becomes impassable when wet. No potable water, toilets, or maintained facilities are available on-site. Rattlesnakes and bees have been reported in the area.
