Hurricane River Lower Campground
About this site
Hurricane River Lower Campground is the trailhead for the Au Sable Light Station, a 3-mile round trip along the North Country Trail with views of Lake Superior, Jacobsville sandstone formations, and historic shipwreck remains. It offers 11-12 sites with picnic tables, fire rings with grill grates, and tent pads. Amenities include seasonal potable water and vault toilets. No hookups, showers, or electric service. Reservations required via Recreation.gov. Additional Info: Part of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore drive-in campgrounds, which are rustic. One wheelchair-accessible site. Generator-free sites available. Typically no cell phone reception.
