Horseshoe Bend Hiker-Biker Campsite is a primitive overnight site for hikers and bikers along the C&O Canal towpath at mile 79.2 in Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park, Maryland. It accommodates up to 8 people and 2 tents on a first-come, first-served basis with a one-night stay limit. Amenities include a chemical toilet (year-round), picnic table, grill, and non-potable water pump (mid-April to mid-November; filter, treat, or boil before use; off mid-November to mid-April). Fires restricted to grills/fire rings; collect dead wood on-site only. Site prone to flooding near Potomac River. Not ADA accessible. Follow Leave No Trace.
