Hoist Lakes Backcountry Campsites
About this site
There are multiple campsites located within the Hoist Lakes trail system. These hike in sites are available on a first come, first served basis. Trash service is not provided. Please pack out all trash and equipment. Additional Info: Hoist Lakes Foot Travel Area encompasses almost 10,000 acres of pine, aspen and hardwood forest with 19 miles of looped trail. Backcountry campsites feature fire rings and are located throughout the area. Camping is allowed anywhere in the tract as long as you're at least 200 feet from an open body of water, swamp, or foot trail. Motorized vehicles, mountain bikes, horses, and boats with outboard motors are prohibited. A Huron-Manistee vehicle pass is required ($5 per day). Hunting and fishing are permitted in season.
