Heart River backpacking campsite 8J4 in Yellowstone National Park, located on Heart River and Surprise Creek. Accessible only by backcountry hiking trails from Heart Lake Trailhead. Backcountry permit required. Popular for fishing and hiking near Heart Lake and Mount Sheridan. Trail opens July 1 due to grizzly habitat. Additional Info: Designated backcountry site in remote area with geothermal features nearby.
