Groat Creek Group Campground is a group camping area located 18km south of Whitecourt on Hwy 32 towards Edson, alongside Groat Creek. It functions as both a snowmobile staging area in winter and group campground in summer. The camping loop has 6 back-in sites and 4 drive-in/pull-off sites, each with picnic table and fire ring. Amenities include a cook shelter with woodstove and generator power, group fire pit, wood shed, and outhouse/washrooms. It also provides access to Golden Triangle snowmobile trails and wilderness hikes. Additional Info: - Bookings for 2025 season open January 6; call 780-778-8400 or 1-888-870-6315 to book and confirm. - Rates: $450/weekend (Fri/Sat, max 7 nights, includes firewood); $200/night additional; $200/day use (Mon-Thu, 12pm-11pm). Online payment requires office confirmation.
