Grass Shack
About this site
Grass Shack Campground is a primitive backcountry site in Saguaro National Park's Rincon Mountain District at 5,300 feet elevation. It offers 3 campsites (6 people max per site) nestled under large oaks and junipers in a riparian ecosystem along Chimenea Creek, which provides water most of the year (treat before use). Access requires a minimum 4.4-mile hike from trailheads like Douglas Spring or Tanque Verde Ridge. Fires are not allowed. Bear box available at some sites. Additional Info: Located in the transition zone between desert and oak woodland, surrounded by grasslands. Part of the Arizona National Scenic Trail.
