Forked Lake Campground
About this site
Forked Lake Campground is a New York State DEC primitive campground located in Adirondack State Park near Long Lake. The campground features 77-79 campsites situated directly on the lake shoreline, providing water access for fishing, paddling, and canoeing. Most sites are accessible by boat and/or foot trail; sites 35-62 are accessible only by boat, while sites 3-34, 63-78, and 69A offer boat and/or trail access. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and pit toilet. Drinking water is available near the boat dock. The forested terrain offers privacy with both open areas and dense tree cover. Food lockers are provided for all campers due to black bears in the area. Campers should arrive before dark due to the remote nature of the facility. A carry-in, carry-out garbage policy is in effect. Black flies present significant challenges during late spring and early summer months. The campground is popular with experienced paddlers and backpackers seeking a wilderness experience.
