**Cougar Creek Recreation Site will be closed a gated for the season on September 15, 2024 at noon. The dock gangway will also be raised and gated until May 2025. A popular destination for anglers, kayakers and campers looking to explore the inlet and Nootka Sound. Located on Tlupana Inlet, this site is set amongst towering Red Cedar with plenty of forest and ocean appointed sites to choose form. Recent pier upgrades provide for easy access to the dock and fish cleaning station. Parking is available on a daily or weekly basis. Please pack out what you pack in - garbage services are not provided. Camping Fees: $15/party, $10/senior rate - CASH ONLY Additional Fees:$5.00/boat launch. Reserved Parking $10/night,$40/week. Firewood available for purchase. Reservations not accepted. Additional Info: Approximately 60-65 campsites with pit toilets, boat dock, and nearby boat launch. Pet friendly. Accessible by vehicle via gravel forest service roads from Gold River (about 40km, 50 minutes). Popular for fishing, kayaking, and family camping, especially in summer.
