About this site

Cottonwood River Camp is a primitive boat-in or hike-in site on the north side of the Green River, 8.75 miles below Flaming Gorge Dam and 1.55 miles below Little Hole, in Ashley National Forest's Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Site has one table, one fire ring, two tent pads, portable toilet screen, and two benches. Natural shade provided. Capacity: 10 people. Vegetation includes Pinyon pine, juniper, sagebrush, Ponderosa pine, and river bottom shrubs and grasses. All campers required to have portable toilet system. No garbage facilities; pack out trash. Open all year. Primarily boat-in, also accessible by foot from Little Hole. Reservations available via Recreation.gov or 1-877-444-6777; otherwise first come, first served with same-day registration at Little Hole. Campsite Fees: $13.00/night summer; $5.00/night October 1–March 31. Requires Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area Recreational Use Pass.
