Chisel Branch Hiker-Biker Campsite is located at Mile 30.5 on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath near Poolesville, Maryland. This hiker-biker campsite is situated on a level field with a few shade trees and grass ground cover. The site is accessible only by foot, bicycle, or horseback and cannot be reached by vehicle. Amenities include a chemical toilet, hand-pumped water (treated with iodine), picnic table, and grill. Water is turned off from mid-November through mid-April. There is no fee to camp, and stays are limited to one night. Campers may pitch tents anywhere they can find space on the field.
