Chilao Campground
About this site
Chilao Campground is located in Angeles National Forest at 5,300 feet elevation, offering 83-84 single-family campsites spread across two loops: Little Pines and Manzanita. The campground is first-come, first-served with no reservations (except one group site). Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection, but no potable water or hookups. Campsites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet. The campground typically remains open April through mid-November, weather permitting. Wildlife is active in the area, including bears, so food must be properly secured. Nearby attractions include hiking trails with views of Vetter Lookout and Big Tujunga Canyon.
