Chena Lake Recreation Area features two main areas: the Lake Park and the River Park. The Lake Park has a campground with 45 campsites including 11 pull-throughs, two covered pavilions, two designated swimming areas with sandy beaches, a boat rental facility, fishing docks (one handicap accessible), boat launch, picnic sites, changing rooms, playground, volleyball courts, horseshoe pit, potable water, and restrooms. The River Park along four miles of the Chena River includes a campground with 35 campsites including 10 pull-throughs, a covered picnic pavilion, 4.5 km nature trail, picnic sites, and a changing room. All campsites are first-come-first-served with a limit of five consecutive nights or 10 nights in 30 days. Remote tent sites are available on Chena Lake island with boat access only. Managed by Fairbanks North Star Borough and US Army Corps of Engineers.
