Kayak Beach Yurt Situated about 10 miles from the Homer harbor, on the south-west side of Tutka Point, the Kayak Beach yurt is nestled in the alders approx. 250 yards from the beach. It gets some day breeze protection from the Herring Islands and has a nice view of Hesketh Island. The yurt is located on the point between Sadie Cove and Little Tutka Bay. The yurt is removed from the state park campground and very private. Drop off is at the Kayak Beach trail head and camp ground. The yurt is about 250 yards down the beach to the left. There are small boulders to walk through along the beach. The clearest trail is at the top of the beach. The yurt is tucked back against the wall of the quarry with a small field of wild flowers in front and a large fire ring. The water is visible from the yurt. Additional Info: Accessible only by water (kayak or boat) or short hike from Kayak Beach landing. Capacity for 6 people. Season of use May through October. Near Grace Ridge Trail trailhead. Features a fire ring with bay view.
