Catawba River Campground
About this site
Twenty walk-in tent campsites located along or near the shoreline at the Catawba River access in Lake James State Park. After parking in the centrally located lot, campers must hike 150 to 300 yards to their campsite, with an elevation change of about 100 feet. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table, with a 17x16 foot tent pad and maximum 6 people per site. Potable water faucets throughout; bathhouse with toilets and hot showers near parking area, open 24/7. Sites 19-20 are accessible and drivable if needed. Additional Info: Nightly rate $30. Reservations required via NC State Parks.
