Harmon Den Horse Campground is nestled on a mountainside beneath a forest of mixed hardwoods in the Pisgah National Forest. Located in a secluded area off Cold Springs Road in Haywood County, the campground features two distinct loops: the upper loop is dedicated to horse campers while the lower loop accommodates tent campers and small trailers. The campground has 10 sites total with ample privacy. Each horse site includes horse stalls and mangers that accommodate up to 4 horses and 8 people, with a picnic table, tent pad, lantern post, fire ring, and parking for a single vehicle with horse trailer. There are no hookups, dump station, or drinking water available. The area offers more than 14 miles of trails designated for hiking and horseback riding and about 40 miles for hiking. Nearby attractions include the Appalachian Trail, Max Patch, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Activities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, and picnicking.
