Castle Rock Trail Camp

Castle Rock Trail Camp is a backpacking campground in Castle Rock State Park, located 2.5-2.6 miles via Saratoga Gap Trail from the main parking lot on Hwy 35. It features 20 designated sites (sites 1-5 first-come first-served, others by reservation), each with picnic table and fire ring, plus vault toilets, piped drinking water, trash receptacles, and a camp shelter. Surrounded by oak, madrone, Douglas fir, and redwood trees with ridge views of Santa Cruz Mountains. Fires permitted in rainy season in metal rings (wood $15/bundle); prohibited in fire season. Register at Robert C. Kirkwood Parking Lot for first-come sites. No dogs on trails. Bikes not allowed on trails.
