Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge Campground
About this site
Camping at Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge is allowed at the refuge's only campground. It's not free, however, but it's still cheap at just $2.00 per day, and will accommodate all sized rigs from the largest RVs down to motorcycle campers. Additional Info: The campground features 17 primitive campsites with picnic tables, pit vault toilets, and a trash dumpster. No water, sewer, or electrical hookups are available. The access road is hardpacked gravel suitable for any vehicle. Campfires are prohibited; only gas camp stoves are allowed. Pets are permitted on leash. The refuge gates close at 6:00 PM and reopen at 8:00 AM; campers must return to their sites before gates close. Maximum stay is 7 days. Camping is first-come, first-served with a self-serve pay station. Fees are waived for holders of Golden Age Passport, Golden Access Passport, Golden Eagle Passport, or Federal Duck Stamp.
