Bright Angel Campground
About this site
Bright Angel Campground is located at the bottom of Grand Canyon National Park along Bright Angel Creek, approximately 1/2 mile north of the Colorado River. It features 33 tent-only campsites, each with a picnic table, two ammo boxes for food storage, and tent pitching area. Amenities include a ranger station, drinking water, and flush toilets. Access is by foot via Bright Angel Trail (about 10 miles from South Rim), South Kaibab Trail (about 7 miles from South Rim), or North Kaibab Trail (14 miles from North Rim). A backcountry permit is required for overnight stays. Phantom Ranch is less than 1/2 mile away with a snack bar and dining options (reservations required). Stay limit is two nights per hike, or four nights during Nov 15-Feb 28. Additional Info: - Picnic tables, pack poles, and metal food storage at every site - Open year-round
