About this site
The site has gravel surfaced driveways, unimproved campsites, and two toilets. Additional Info: Shores Recreation Site is located along the Gila River upstream from Winkelman, Arizona, at an elevation of 2,350 feet. The minimally developed site provides access for river-related recreation including sightseeing, wildlife viewing, picnicking, camping, fishing, and small craft floating. Camping is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 14 days. Each campsite has a parking spur and fire ring. Motor homes and large trailer RVs are not suitable due to narrow passages. The site is open year-round, sunrise to sunset. A permit is not required for private, non-commercial use.
