About this site
Bourn Pond is a remote backcountry camping area located in the Lye Brook Wilderness of Green Mountain National Forest, Vermont. The pond sits on the western side of Stratton Mountain and is accessible only by hiking approximately 3 miles from the Branch Pond Trailhead. There are three designated camping areas: a north tenting area, west tenting area, and south tenting area. The north and south tenting areas have composting privies. The pond is surrounded by spruce forest with two small islands visible from the western banks. Dispersed camping is allowed with no permits required. The trail travels along an old railroad grade and can be very muddy during wet weather.
