Black Jack Campground
About this site
Black Jack Campground is Catalina Island's highest elevation campground, located 11.5 miles inland from Avalon along the Trans Catalina Trail. This remote site primarily serves backpackers and hikers, offering shaded sites under larger trees. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and bear box for food storage. Potable water is available from a spigot between site 5 and the restrooms. An outdoor cold water shower is provided. Several sites accommodate hammocks. The Airport in the Sky is approximately 2 miles up the trail.
