Black Gap WMA FC 15-16
About this site
Black Gap WMA FC 15‑16 is a primitive fishing campsite located along the Rio Grande within the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area in far West Texas. The site is one of several designated fishing campsites that provide a fire ring/grill and a shade shelter. Visitors must bring their own water and pack out all trash. Camping is only allowed at designated sites for resource protection. The area is remote and rugged, with many sites accessible only by high‑clearance or 4WD vehicles. Additional Info: Black Gap WMA contains 26 primitive hunting campsites and about 25 fishing shelters along the Rio Grande. All campsites are primitive, with no developed services. The only restroom facility is located at the headquarters campsite. Only 'dead and down' wood may be collected for firewood, and all campfires must be in the provided fire rings. The WMA is open year‑round except during special permit hunts; visitors must obtain a Limited Public Use Permit and register on arrival.
