Big Spring Campground
About this site
Primitive campground located 10 miles NW of Elkader along the Turkey River with 6-7 sites, each featuring a fire pit and picnic table. Near Big Spring Trout Hatchery. Pit toilets available. Sites accommodate one RV or trailer plus one-three tents, with two motor vehicles allowed per site. $15/night with weekend 2-night minimum and holiday 3-night minimum. Reservations required online at least 3 days in advance, non-refundable. Check-in after 3pm, check-out by 3pm. Pet friendly. Carry-in/carry-out refuse. Firewood available. Quiet generators allowed. Park open 6am-10:30pm; closed to non-registered campers overnight. Temporary closures possible during flood stage. Additional Info: Sites labeled with numbered posts. Accessible by vehicle near the hatchery.
