Benchmark Campground
About this site
Benchmark Campground is located approximately 30 miles west of Augusta, Montana. It has 25 campsites and is available from summer until fall. The campground sits in the Rocky Mountain Range of Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest at 5,300 feet elevation. It serves as a primary access point to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex and attracts backpackers, horseback riders, and anglers near the Sun River. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilets are available, but potable water is not. Bears frequent the area; mandatory food storage in approved containers is required. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, seasonal from late spring through early fall depending on conditions.
