Benchmark Campground
About this site
Benchmark Camping area is located approximately 30 miles west of Augusta, Montana. It has 25 campsites and available from Summer until Fall. Bears may frequent the area; keep all food out of sight in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating. Mandatory food storage is required. Additional Info: The campground is located on Wood Canyon Ford in the Sawtooth Range at 5,300 feet elevation. Sites are shaded by a variety of conifers and aspen. The facility is composed of three spurs, two of which have feeding troughs for horses at most sites. All sites have spacious parking aprons suitable for RVs or tow vehicles with horse trailers. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. Vault toilets are available; potable water is not available. Pets are allowed on a leash. Handicap accessible facilities are provided. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is a primary access point to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. Stay limit is 14 days.
