Bear Creek Lake State Park - Acorn Loop
About this site
Acorn Loop is the only camping area directly on Bear Creek Lake's 40-acre shoreline within Cumberland State Forest, approximately 4.5 miles northwest of Cumberland. The loop offers 17 total sites: ten primitive waterfront tent sites with 10x10 foot tent pads and natural surface camping (no hookups), providing unobstructed lake views, and seven sites with 20 and 30-amp electric and water hookups accommodating pop-ups and small RVs up to 20 feet long. Each site includes a metal fire ring and picnic table. A bathhouse with showers is available within the loop. Campers have convenient access to the park's swimming beach, fishing pier, and boat launch for non-motorized craft. Hiking trails within the park and the adjacent 16,000-acre Cumberland State Forest are accessible, including the 15.7-mile Cumberland Multi-use Trail. Firewood is available for purchase at the entrance. A campground host is stationed at site 14 during most of the camping season. The park office sells ice and basic supplies; a camp store operates seasonally at the beach area from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
