Avalon Resort is a clothing-optional resort and campground nestled on a mountainside in the panhandle of West Virginia, approximately two hours from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland. The resort spans more than 140 acres and offers three beautiful campground areas with 127 sites. Camping options include primitive tent sites, small and large RV sites with water, electric and sewer hookups, and private condo rentals. The Meadow area features 6 large pull-through sites with water and electric (no sewer, but dump station on site). Pine Grove is a popular tent camping location near the outdoor pool, Oasis Grill, and recreational facilities. Amenities include two bathhouses with laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, WiFi throughout the campground and pool areas, showers, drinking water, ADA-accessible facilities, picnic tables, firewood, and a market. The resort is pet-friendly and allows alcohol and campfires. Despite spotty cell service in the area, high-speed WiFi is available in the campground, outdoor pool, and indoor aquatics center.
