ʻĀpua Point is a backcountry campsite in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park along the Puna Coast Trail. It is 6.6 miles from the Pu'uloa Petroglyphs trailhead over rough lava flows and sea cliffs. Features sparse palm trees, rocky coastline, and beach coves. Maximum 3 consecutive nights per site; 16 hikers allowed per night. Permit required for all backcountry camping. No drinking water available.
