Alto Pit OHV Day Use/Campground

About this site

Alto Pit OHV Day Use/Campground is located at the foot of Granite Mountain Wilderness Area at 6,200 feet elevation in Prescott National Forest. The campground features 10 single campsites and 1 double site (accommodating up to 20 people), each with picnic tables and fire pits. All campsites have gravel driveways with 10 pull-through and 1 back-in option. Sites accommodate RVs up to 38 feet. The area encompasses 400 acres with approximately 20 miles of motorized trails for ATV and dirt bike riders (off-road vehicles 50 inches or less in width), including 2 cross-country areas and a designated children's area. A staging area with ramps is available for loading/unloading vehicles. Facilities include 3 vault toilets, garbage service, and a large ramada near the entrance for group gatherings of up to 50 people. There is no drinking water, RV hookups, or dump station. A campground host is available to provide information and assist visitors. Day-use is available for $5 per vehicle, or free on Wednesdays. Additional Info: Overnight camping: Single site $14/night, Double site $28/night, Additional vehicle $5/night. Reservations available May 1 through October 31 via Recreation.gov; first-come, first-served November 1 through April 30. Maximum stay is 14 days within any 30-day period. Dogs must be on leash (6 feet maximum). Quiet hours 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Campfires in developed fire pits only; fireworks prohibited.
