Zumbro Bottoms Horse Camp West is the largest of three primitive horse campgrounds in the Zumbro Bottoms Management Unit of Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, managed by Frontenac State Park. It offers 72 equestrian campsites with cleared areas, fire rings, picnic tables, picket lines, tie rails, manure disposal, and portable corrals allowed. Amenities include vault toilets and hand-pumped well water. All sites are first-come, first-served. Rates: Individual site without horses $14, Equestrian site $16, paid on site. Open seasonally with areas accessible 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Features 44 miles of horse riding trails.
