Yates Marsh North
About this site
Yates Marsh North is a primitive campsite within the Yates Marsh section of the Florida National Scenic Trail in the Kissimmee River Public Use Area. It is set in a pretty oak hammock decorated with bromeliads. A free permit is required from the South Florida Water Management District; reservations available online. Additional Info: - Features a picnic table, grill, and camping spots beneath oaks or in open prairie. - Non-potable water available from pump (may not always work). - Accessible via short side trail (0.2 miles blue blaze) from main trail. - Trailhead on Lofton Road, 5.2 miles west of US 98, just after railroad tracks before S-65D Lock. - Hunting managed by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
