About this site
Wood Lake Campground is a remote backcountry site in Isle Royale National Park on the north shore of Wood Lake. It offers 3 first-come, first-served tent sites accessible only by canoe or kayak via a 0.6-mile portage from Lake Whittlesey or Siskiwit Lake. No ground fires allowed; self-contained stoves only. Free overnight camping permit required. Pets not allowed. Stay limit of 2 nights from June 1 through Labor Day. Seasonal operation mid-April through late September/early October. Additional Info: Toilets available. No potable water, showers, campfires, picnic tables, electric, or sewer hookups.
