About this site

Wiley's Well Campground is a BLM-managed Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) located in the lower Colorado Desert in eastern Riverside County, California, adjacent to a desert riparian wash populated by palo verde, smoke tree, mesquite, and ironwood trees. The campground offers easy 4-wheel drive access to nearby rock-hounding sites including Hauser Geode Beds and Opal Hill Fire Agate Mine. The historic Bradshaw Trail National Scenic Byway provides access to numerous trails, gem and mineral collection sites, and an historic stage route/mining area. Permits are available: short visit permit $40 or long-term permit $180. Amenities include toilets, sanitary dump station, trash, and fire rings. Non-potable water is available most of the time. The site is accessible via a graded dirt road 6 miles south from Wiley's Well Road (Exit 222 off I-10).
