Whitewater Preserve

Whitewater Preserve offers free tent camping with up to three consecutive nights every 30 days (donations appreciated). The campground is situated south of the restrooms in the picnic area and includes a spacious tent camping area, picnic tables, flush toilet restrooms, and potable water. A small creek meanders through the campground with shade from large cottonwood trees. Tents and trailers welcome (max trailer length 20 feet, must be detached). Max group size 20 people. No fires, charcoal BBQs, electricity, showers, generators, or amplified audio. Propane stoves ok. Reservations recommended; walk-ins welcome before 4:15 pm check-in (check-out 11:00 am). Additional Info: Located at 9160 Whitewater Canyon Road, Whitewater, CA 92282. Preserve open 8 AM to 5 PM daily. Managed by The Wildlands Conservancy.
