Whitehead Landing
About this site
Whitehead Landing is a small primitive campground and day-use area on a tributary to the Ochlockonee River in Apalachicola National Forest, Liberty County, Florida. It offers shaded campsites each with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. A concrete boat ramp provides access to the river for fishing with small motorboats, canoes, and kayaks. The campground operates first-come, first-served year-round at $3 per vehicle per night with no reservations, showers, or hookups. Amenities include non-flush toilets, drinking water from a natural well, and parking. The site serves as a hunt camp during general gun season but remains open to non-hunters. Note that the access road to the boat ramp is frequently underwater. Additional Info: Open year-round. Quiet hours 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. No day use or boat ramp fees.
