Whitehead Campground & Boat Ramp
About this site
$3/vehicle Additional Info: Whitehead Landing is a small, primitive campground and day-use area situated on a tributary to the Ochlockonee River in Liberty County's Apalachicola National Forest. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. A concrete boat ramp provides access to the Ochlockonee River for motorboats, canoes, and kayaks. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. A natural well provides drinking water on site. There are no showers or hookups available. The access road to the boat ramp is frequently underwater, which can make the boat ramp inaccessible at times. The site serves as a hunt camp during general gun season, though it remains open to non-hunters year-round.
