White Pine Extension Outpost
About this site
White Pine Extension Outpost is a small, rustic campground with 8 sites located a couple of miles from Summit Peak Scenic Area in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. It offers tent, van, or compact camper sites with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, electricity, or running water on-site. Bring all water needed for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. The area features dense forests, rugged terrain, proximity to Lake Superior and waterfalls, and typical Upper Peninsula wildlife including black bears. Sites can become muddy after rain, and insect activity is heavy in season. Firewood is available for purchase at the park office. Additional Info: Year-round camping. Reservable. Pets allowed. Fires allowed. Cell coverage spotty.
