About this site
Whirlpool is a backcountry campground in Jasper National Park, located 6.6 km from the Moab Lake trailhead along the Whirlpool Valley Fire Road. It offers stunning views and recent upgrades including new bear lockers. Suitable for beginner backpackers or quick overnights, with only two sites available by reservation. Bikes are permitted on the access road. Note: Whirlpool Group Campground is closed for the 2026 season.
