About this site

Dispersed camping area in the West Pine Creek drainage near Livingston, Montana. Located at the end of South Fork of West Pine Road #976 in the Gallatin National Forest. The area offers access to the West Pine Creek trail, which climbs through a burned area from the 2001 Fridley Fire and ascends to open grassland ridge with views of Paradise Valley and the Absaroka Mountain Range. Wildlife in the area includes moose, elk, deer, bears, and mountain lions. Weather can change rapidly in spring, summer, and autumn with potential for thunderstorms.
