Weston Hills Primitive Campsite is a free dispersed camping area in the Weston Hills recreation area, managed cooperatively by BLM and USFS. Located about 25 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming, to the west of Highway 59. Dispersed camping is allowed throughout the area, with many good sites located at the top of the buttes on BLM land along Forest System Road 1246. The area features several miles of roads and trails popular for four-wheeling, ATVs, dirt bikes, and hunting. Wildlife includes mule deer, antelope, elk, turkey, and eagles. There is one vault toilet near the fishing pond. Potable water is not available. Vehicle travel limited to designated routes; OHVs require Wyoming sticker and spark arrester, with width limits (50-60 inches). No recreational shooting allowed June through January. Stay limit follows standard BLM dispersed camping rules: 14 days within 28-day period.
