West Star Lake Campground

West Star Lake Campground (sites 1701-1718) is located in the central portion of Northern Highland American Legion State Forest on the northeast corner of Star Lake, a 1,206-acre lake known for quality fishing, excellent swimming, and boating. This rustic-style campground features 18 campsites with wider spacing typical of traditional forest campgrounds, offering a quieter camping experience. The campground provides basic amenities including two ADA-accessible vault toilet buildings, two hand pumps for drinking water, and separate trash and recycling dumpsters. A boat launch is located within the campground, and a nearby hiking trail offers additional recreation opportunities. One double campsite (1708-1709) can accommodate up to 12 people and two camping units. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. All campsites require advance reservations and can be booked same-day or up to 11 months in advance. A Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker is required for entry.
