West Chickenbone Campground
About this site
West Chickenbone Campground is located on the west end of Chickenbone Lake in Isle Royale National Park, accessible only by foot and canoe/kayak. The campground features 6 tent sites with individual lake access and views of Greenstone Ridge. Access is via the Indian Portage Trail (foot) or by canoe/kayak portage: 1.2 miles from McCargoe Cove or 0.2 miles from Lake Livermore. The campground is primitive with toilets but no potable water, showers, campfires, or pets allowed. Stay limit is 2 nights from June 1 to Labor Day annually.
