Watson River Chickee

Watson River Chickee is a chickee campsite in Everglades National Park, located on Whitewater Bay along the 99-mile Wilderness Waterway. Chickees are elevated wooden platforms with roofs, designed for canoe/kayak access in mangrove areas where dry land is inaccessible. The platform measures 10 x 12 feet and accommodates one group of up to 6 people. A portable toilet is available nearby. Additional Info: Backcountry permits are required and can be obtained up to 24 hours in advance at the Flamingo Visitor Center.
