Walker Lake Recreation Area offers BLM-managed camping areas along the western shore of Walker Lake near Hawthorne, NV, including Sportsman’s Beach (developed with covered picnic tables, RV pull-through spaces, fire rings, and pit toilets), Tamarack Beach, and 20 Mile Beach (primitive with level camping spaces and minimal amenities). Developed sites at Sportsman’s Beach cost $6 per night or $36 per week per vehicle. Primitive areas cost $2-4 per night. America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes are honored. No hookups, dump station, or drinking water available on-site. Additional Info: Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, weather permitting. Pit toilets and trash service available at Sportsman’s Beach. Excellent Verizon signal.

    Windy and cold when we stayed but plenty of spot overlooking the lake with great Mountain View’s nearby
