Vogel State Park Campground
About this site
Vogel State Park Campground is a 242-acre state park established in 1931 as Georgia's second oldest state park, nestled at 2,500 feet elevation at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The park offers 90 tent, trailer, and RV campsites, 18 walk-in campsites, a pioneer campground, and 34 cottages. The centerpiece is a 22-acre lake open to non-motorized boats with seasonal rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, pedalboats, aquacycles). Over 20 miles of hiking trails extend through the park and into the surrounding forest. Many original structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression; the CCC museum tells their story and operates seasonally. A seasonal mountain-view beach provides swimming access. Amenities include hot showers, dump station, general store, miniature golf, playground, picnic shelters, group shelter, visitor center, and Wi-Fi at select locations. The park is open year-round from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
