Prince Albert National Park allows random backcountry camping throughout most of the park. The Valleyview Trail Network provides excellent access to the remote south-western corner of the park. Valleyview Trail Network: Enjoy the breathtaking, scenic views of the Sturgeon River Valley as you travel through mixed wood aspen forest, sedge meadows and fescue grasslands - all frequented by bison. Length: 28.7 km network. Trail loops range from easy to difficult. Register at the Visitor Centre prior to each backcountry trip. Random camping is prohibited within 2 km of any public highway or designated campground, 50 meters of any designated trail in Prince Albert National Park, and within 2 km of the shorelines of Waskesiu, Kingsmere, Bagwa, Clare, Lily, Ajawaan, Hanging Hearts, Crean, Sandy and Lost Lakes. Firewood may be gathered from fallen trees and deadfall on the ground. Do not cut or remove material from standing trees. Bear country. Dogs should be leashed. Pack out all garbage. Abundant water access (must be purified).
